Colorado Beer NewsToday is Born in the USA Day. Back on this day in 1984, Bruce Springsteen released his single "Born in the U.S.A." which quickly became one of this most well known songs. The song was the title song from the album of the same name which ended up having 7 hit singles on it. The song turns 30 years old today. Give a toast today to Bruce Springsteen and the song helped to bring him a lot of attention. Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Wednesday, June 4th, 2014. Beer By Design Brewery (Northglenn) - The brewery is celebrating their first year of beer at the brewery all month long from June 9th to June 30th. Parry's Pizzeria & Bar(Highlands Ranch) - This Sunday, June 8th starting at 11am is their B.Y.O.S. (Bring Your Own Sunscreen) Patio Party at Parry's Pizza. THey will be officially christening their new extended patio at their Highlands Ranch location that day. There will be some special brews on tap for this event including: Parabola by Firestone Walker, Kriek by AC Golden, Grand Cru by North Coast, La Folie by New Belgium and several others to be announced. 50 craft beers always on draft. Bike CrawlYak & Yeti Restaurant & Brewpub (Arvada) - Today they are re-releasing 1 keg (and the last keg) of Exceptionally-Built ESB. This 5.3% ABV/45 IBU brew was aged in a Leopold Bros Whiskey barrel. Get it while it lasts. Coming up this Sunday, June 8th is a BREWERY BIKE CRAWL starting at 11am. Yak & Yeti and Odyssey Beerwerks presents the first of 3 bike crawls for the summer of 2014. They are heading to Golden, CO, all the details and downloadable poster are here. Please park across street or other areas and bike to Yak to save space for dining customers. If you can't make this Sunday, they will do it again July 13th and August 31st. And don't forget that on Tuesday, July 1st is their 6th Anniversary Party and 150th Anniversary House celebration (their building was built in 1864). De Steeg Brewing (Denver) - The brewery has a new exterior paint job! Gone are the white walls and in with the new darker color! They are open tonight from 4-11pm. Our Mutual Friend Malt & Brew (Denver) - Next Friday June 13th at 6pm OMF will tap their collaboration Roggenbier with friends Renegade Brewing Company. Roggen is German for rye, and this one has a lot. It's a spicy, malty, nicely hoppy ale and they can't wait to share it with you. Mark your calendars and come party. Stats: 9.0% ABV, 47 IBU. Strange Craft Beer Co (Denver) - For Humpday it's One Barrel Wednesday! Today they are tapping their Munich Pale Ale. They brewed this single malt pale with 3 hop varieties and dry hopped it with Calypso hops. Stats: 5.2% ABV, 35 IBU. [1330 Zuni St, Unit M, Denver, CO]

Odyssey Beerwerks (Arvada) - Hey Hop Heads! 5 gallons of their Double Dry Hopped Killer Rabbit IPA going on tap at 5:00pm this afternoon. Odd13 Brewing (Lafayette) - It's small batch Wednesday out at Odd13 again. Tonight they'll tap 5 gallons of a little something they call Funktown Zed (Belgian-American Pale Ale), so come check it. Grimm Brothers Brewhouse (Loveland) - The theme for their June firkins is "Fruit" and the first firkin for this month taps Friday, June 6th and will be a Blueberry Snow Drop (Kottbusser Ale). Funkwerks (Ft. Collins) - Every Wednesday this summer it's Bike Day at Funkwerks. Ride your bike to the taproom and get some darn good beer specials - buy a beer and get your second beer for FREE! If you ride a unicycle - get half off every beer! Or if you ride a tricycle or and adult big-wheel - buy one and get half off two beers! Also, Funkwerks plans to release a new single-hop Saison around June 21st called "Sorachi". This is a light pale Saison with Sorachi Ace hops that has a lemony floral aroma with flavors of bright citrus, ginger and a hint of herbal tea. Wiley Roots Brewing Co (Greeley) - While the current flooding from the Poudre river has closed down their taproom and brewhouse, Patrick's Irish Pub in downtown Greeley has graciously agreed to be their temporary tap room location. Lofty Brewing Co (Colorado Springs) - They may not have their own tap room, but you can head over to Green Man Taproom & Beer Garden for locals day today and try their Gold Hill Java Pale today. Great Storm Brewing (Colorado Springs) - The weather is heating up and GSB is getting antsy to party! Storm Peak Brewing Co (Steamboat Springs) - Update on this soon to open brewery: they've just passed final mechanical inspection and now have gas flowing for the boiler. The fermenters are all wired and water is now flowing into the brewhouse and counter-flow. With just a few more items left to complete they are getting closer to opening. 1st brew day should be soon.
