Colorado Beer News 060914

Colorado Beer NewsToday is Donald Duck Day. Back on this day 80 years ago, Donald Duck made his first appearance in the short entitled "The Wise Little Hen" in 1934. The small little duck in a sailor suit with a short temper rarely gets respect, but is one of Disney's most famous characters. If celebrating ducks aren't your thing, then perhaps you can celebrate Best Friends Day and take your best friend out for a craft beer at your favorite local brewery or pub today. Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Monday, June 9th, 2014. If you aren't reading this article on, you don't know what you're missing.

Copper Kettle Brewing CompanyCopper Kettle Brewing Co (Denver) - [PRESS RELEASE] Copper Kettle Brewing Company is pleased to announce the distribution of two additional year round bombers. The expansion of their brewing system from a 3 barrel brewhouse to a brand new 15 barrel brewhouse with a custom copper wrapped boil kettle from Premier Stainless Systems has allowed the company to expand their distribution capabilities. Copper Kettle Brewing Company has a story that goes with each of their year round bombers. The company has recently hired Spencer Seibert, as the Sales Manager to help distribute outside of the Denver Metro area and expand the company’s distribution region. Copper Kettle Brewing Company bottles and distributes the “Mexican Chocolate Stout”, a dynamic stout with cinnamon, cacao nibs, and chili peppers, a Gold Medal Winner at Great American Beer Fest in 2011. The Mexican Chocolate Stout was inspired by the Aztec recipe for Mexican hot chocolate and believed to be the “food of the gods.” “Charlie’s Golden Strong”, a fine Belgian-style golden strong ale, comes in at 8% ABV, and has been distributed for about two weeks. The Golden Strong was named after the owners’, Kristen Kozik and Jeremy Gobien, adopted Golden Retriever mix, Charlie. Charlie can be found at the brewery most days and always happy to get some love from the regulars. The “Naja Imperial Red IPA”, a big, bold American Red IPA, full of intense hop flavor, comes in at 9% and has been bottled and distributed for a little over a week. “Naja” is Sanskrit for the venomous hooded snake, revered by snake charmers, but also dangerous. The Imperial Red IPA is deliciously smooth with a strikingly bold hop flavor. All of the above beers are available year round in the Copper Kettle Brewing Company’s tasting room and also at many local Denver liquor stores as well as in Colorado Springs, Bolder and soon available in Fort Collins. Copper Kettle Brewing Company also has limited release seasonal bombers including their latest bottle, “Le Chapeau”, a French style saison aged in lightly toasted red wine barrels. “Le Chapeau”, is the third release in the barrel aged series this year that also included “Snowed In”, an imperial oatmeal stout with cacao nibs and local coffee and “Well Bred”, an English Barleywine, both aged in Breckenridge Distillery bourbon barrels.
