Colorado Beer NewsToday is King Kamehameha I Day. This is a day that honors the first great monarch of the unified Kingdom of Hawai'i. It is an annual celebration and now an official state holiday in Hawaii. King Kamehameha ruled until his death in 1819. Today, many of the cultural traditions of his time are still honored. So while you're out celebrating Hump Day today, raise a toast to the memory of King Kamehameha I. Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Wednesday, June 11th, 2014. Lone Barrel Brewing (Northern Colorado) - This brewery in development is already branching out with new endeavors. In addition to opening a brewery, they also plan to open up a side Food Truck business under the name of Flava Stave. They will specialize in Caribbean influenced food as well as some standard American fare. The truck will debut around July 5th at Industrial Revolution Brewery in Erie. [Address TBA]

Colorado Brewers' Festival (Ft. Collins) - Get ready for the 25th Annual Colorado Brewers' Festival in Fort Collins, CO June 27-29, 2014. In addition to all the great Colorado breweries (50) and beer that will be flowing, there will be a new special addition to the fest called "The Wilderness". This area, located in Civic Center Park in FoCo, is going to have lots of fun Colorado activities such as: a Zip Line, a Mechanical Bull, a Rock Climbing Wall, a Single Bungee Trampoline, a Human Gyroscope Ball, and Zorb balls! Patrick's Irish Pub (Greeley) - With 31 beers on tap and even more from the cellar, there's lots of reasons to make Patrick's Irish Pub your 2014 World Cup destination! Front Range Rally (Loveland) - Thanks to all your support. The Front Range Rally in Loveland on May 31st was able to raise nearly $30,000 or hunger-relief programs in Larimer County. This is nearly double what was made the previous year! Hope to see you all again next year!

Grimm Brothers Brewhouse (Loveland) - Their next firkin coming this Friday is a Peach Fundevogel. Fundevogel is a really easy drinking Dortmunder Lager, should be awesome with some peach added. Blueberry Snow Drop ran out on Sunday so make sure you come in over the weekend if you want to get some Peach Fundevogel. Also today is another Traveling Growler special.
