Boulder Beer Co (Boulder) - Starting next week, Boulder Beer Company will begin to package both their Buffalo Gold golden ale and their Mojo IPA in brand new 12oz cans. According to their website: The Buffalo Gold artwork was redesigned for the cans to make the graphics consistent with our core lineup of beers. As one of our heritage beers dating back to 1989, Buffalo Gold historically has had a different look reminiscent of the brewery’s early days and has predominantly been sold only in Colorado. The graphic redesign of Buffalo Gold coincides with the launch of the brand nationally with the release of the new six-pack cans. Moving forward it will be available in cans and draught, but not bottles. Mojo IPA, one of their core year-round beers and a brewery staff favorite, warranted a package extension to cans to satisfy the thirst of the many outdoorsy hop heads out there on the lookout for more canned IPA’s. They will continue to package Mojo in bottles as well as draught. Pale in color but packed with flavor, Mojo’s Amarillo hops create a big grapefruit-like citrusy flavor with a crisp, dry finish. Both Mojo IPA and Buffalo Gold will be available in 12-ounce six-pack cans to all markets where Boulder Beer brands are distributed. They begin shipping from the brewery next week in time to hit area retailers before the July 4th holiday. With their recent purchase and installment of a new Palmer canning line, they now have the capability of offering more of their beers in cans. They currently offer two brands in cans – Hazed & Infused year-round and Hoopla Pale Ale in the summer season – which previously were canned using a mobile canning service. Buffalo Gold and Mojo IPA will be the first new can releases since their new Palmer line began running in April. [2880 Wilderness Pl, Boulder, CO]

Paradox Beer Co (Woodland Park) - [PRESS RELEASE] Just in time for Independence Day, Paradox Beer Company has released three new beers in the Skully line designed and wax-dipped to represent the vibrant colors of the American flag. Sure to please even the most patriotic of palates, these beers include Skully Barrel No. 11, the Sour Red Ale, Skully Barrel No. 12, a Sour Blueberry Ale, and Skully Barrel No. 13, a sour-mashed white wheat Biere Blanche. Each of these crown-capped bottles is wax-dipped in its corresponding color, creating a remarkable trio designed to colorfully celebrate the Fourth of July. Brewer and cellarman Jeffrey Airman reveres the opportunity for expression inherent in the sour beer which the Skully line represents: "Barrel-aged wilds and sours, to us, are a innovative style that we believe to be a true expression of a brewer's freedom. For the first time, to commemorate the freedom we all celebrate on Independence Day, we have released three Skully beers in one month." The latest development at Paradox Beer Company, the new crown-capped bottles mean a superior seal that protects beer for exceptional long-term bottle aging. According to Airman, "Our 500 mL bottles are extra strong, built to withstand high levels of pressure, with a specially-shaped bottom known as a punt that helps the yeast in our unfiltered beer more thoroughly settle in the bottle. These bottles are crown-capped to achieve a phenomenal seal ideal for aging." [106 E Village Terrace Suite 100, Woodland Park, CO]
