Colorado Beer NewsToday is officially the 1st day of The Dog Days of Summer. These are the hottest days of the year and typically last from July 3rd through August 11th each year. Do what you can to beat the heat. Having a cold craft beer sure helps! Wishing everyone a great Independence Day weekend. Be safe! Prost Brewing Co (Denver) - Location is everything! Heading to the Rockies games this weekend? Park for FREE (while spots last) during the games and walk to the games. Kokopelli Beer Co (Westminster) - They may have opened their brewery in January, but Kokopelli Beer Company is now officially going to hold their Ribbon Cutting Ceremony with the local city chamber next Thursday, July 10th at 4pm. During this event, they are offering up 20% off all merchandise as well as offering food and drink specials. The ribbon will be made of fresh real hop vines! If you haven't been to Kokopelli Beer Company yet, now's the time to check them out! Mountain Toad Brewing (Golden) - Their dog mascot Blance is the inspiration for today's tadpole beer: "Blanc de Blanc IPA". It's a white IPA hopped with Hallertau Blanc and 5 other hops for some delicious notes of crisp white wine, lime and passion fruit. Wiley Roots Brewing Co (Greeley) - On Friday, July 4th there will be a meet and greet with the professional bull fighters the Greeley stampede from 5-7pm in their taproom. Come visit and hang out with the American Bullfighters. Later that night, Wiley Roots' patio makes an excellent place to watch the Stampede Fireworks, so grab your lawn chairs and enjoy the fireworks with a local craft beer in your hand. On Saturday, July 5th, Wiley Roots will be at Greeley Stampede pouring on the VIP patio on Saturday 1pm onward. In addition, their collaboration with Crabtree Brewing Company and Broken Plow Brewery continues. Grimm Brothers Brewhouse (Loveland) - Tomorrow is the 4th. Help Grimm Bros tomorrow as they cheer on runners & walkers and help raise money for Life for the Innocent. Pikes Peak Brewing Co (Monument) - Heading to the parade in Monument on the 4th? Watch for the PPBC float in the Monument parade. They'll open up at noon on July 4th. Come relax on their new improved outdoor beer garden. They'll have 9 beers on tap this weekend including 3 seasonals: a Vienna Lager, Rocky Wheat Hefeweizen and Kissing Camels Berliner Weiss. Paradox Beer Co (Woodland Park) - Weekend Reminder: They are OPEN Friday, July 4th, from Noon until 5pm. Saturday, July 5th, Noon until 8pm. Sunday, July 6th, Noon until 5pm. Tonight they are OPEN and will be there until 7 or 8pm. Stop into their Woodland Park Tasting Room and pick up some barrel aged wilds and sours for your BBQ, bash, or bottleshare. Mountains and West

Horsefly Brewery (Montrose) - For the 4th, they will be open at 10am for the best place on Main Street to watch a parade. They're serving up breakfast burritos, mimosas, bloody marys, and red beers as well as the other regular drinks. The kitchen is going to shut down at 5:30pm and they will be closing at 7pm so their employees can enjoy what's left of the holiday. Cheryl and Lobo will be providing live music from 4-6pm. Casey Brewing and Blending (Glenwood Springs) - Colorado's newest brewery opens this weekend! Today they will have a soft opening with two special Saisons and then their Grand Opening will be on Saturday, July 5th. This brewery will specialize in barrel aged and blended beers. Look for sours, saisons and much more in the months to come. Barrel aged beers take time and each one they make will be special. Bottles available too. Storm Peak Brewing Co (Steamboat Springs) - Their taproom will be open all weekend. They'll tap a Black IPA tomorrow (July 4th), a Milk Stout on Saturday (July 5th), and a Belgian Pale on Monday (July 7th).
