Colorado Beer NewsToday is Sturgis Motorcycle Rally Week. All this week, from August 4th through the 10th is the 74th annual trek to Sturgis. The roads and highways leading to and around Sturgis, SD will be filled with choppers, Harleys, and all kinds of motorized cycles. Be sure to give them a break and give them plenty of room on the road this week. How many of you are heading to Sturgis? Arvada Beer Co (Arvada) - Arvada Beer Company announces it new Chili Tuesday series.
Starting on Tuesday August 5th, Arvada Beer will release a new chili beer every Tuesday through the summer. The Chili Beer release schedule is as follows: 8/5 - Pablano 59'er ( Black Lager), 8/12 - Anaheim Altbier, 8/19 - Jalapeno IPA, 8/26 - Chili Golden Ale ( Anaheim and Pablano). Other Beers planned are Serrano Red and Chipotle Altbier. These beers will be produced the same way as Arvada Beer's Thursdays Brewers Limited Reserve, 10 gallon batches that will be available until they are gone. Head Brewer Cary Floyd said "Our Chili Golden has been so popular, and we get so many requests to bring it back, we decided to try different chili's with our different beers to test the market". Big Choice Brewing (Broomfield) - Later this month, Big Choice plans to put their "Punk-toberfest" lager in 16oz cans! Look for their official release announcement soon. Also, starting on August 5th (tomorrow) stop in between 6-8pm with a Friend wearing your Big Choice gear and you each get a Buy One Get One Free (on $4.50 pints). Also, you will receive $1 Off on your tacos from Tasty Eats. Also, this year they have a Bronco Game Party Package. Each time the Broncos play this season, they will offer these specials starting 2 hours before the game and ending at the start of the game: $1 off 4 packs, $2 off new growlers, and $1 off refill growlers. Diebolt Brewing Co (Denver) - Diebolt Brewing Company will release a new Experiment-Ale, Wiggy Wiggy Wheat,a 4% ABV French Grisette brewed with a Belgian yeast strain and a healthy dose of hibiscus flowers resulting in a light, slightly fruity, purple ale. Wiggy Wiggy will join the cast of nine other brews on tap at its Sunnyside tasting room. “Forget about red and black beers. You have to see this one,” said brewery co-founder Dan Diebolt. “The hibiscus flowers gave it an really interesting hue. The low ABV and fruity notes from the yeast make this a great summer beer.” The beer will be available when the tasting room opens at 4 pm Friday, August 8th. [3855 Mariposa St, Denver, CO]

Kokopelli Beer Co (Westminster) - Here's what's happening at Kokopelli Beer this week. First of all - new business hours! Sunday thru Thursday open til 10pm, and Friday & Saturday open til midnight! Happy Hour happens Monday thru Friday 2pm to 5pm with $1 off house pints. Monday nights starting at 6pm is Brews and Board Games! Bring in your own board game or play one of theirs and receive $1 off house pints all night. Tuesday at 6:30 Irish music until 9pm. Denver Beer Co (Denver) - Their taproom favorite Graham Cracker Porter is being put into cans for the first time! They'll be giving out samples at Argonaut Wine & Liquor from 3-6pm Friday and then will be selling the cans at the brewery for their Canniversary Party starting on Saturday, August 9th. Boulder County

12 Degree Brewing Co (Louisville) - 12 Degree has a few special small batch beers on tap and coming soon, including two new Brett beers. First up is Duplicity, a Brett-fermented golden strong ale with a tantalizing aroma of pineapple, mild funk, and a tart, clean finish. Duplicity went on tap during the last weekend. This is a new beer and they suspect it'll kick fast! Also back on tap now is Cherry Fog, their Quadrupel ale aged on tart cherries. Smooth and deceptively strong with notes of dark fruit and caramel. Finally, they have a small amount of barrel-aged Pommy Dervish stashed in the cellar that they will be tapping this week. This is the Cabernet barrel-aged version of their pomegranate Brett Saison and it is tasting pretty delicious. Stay tuned for a day and time! [820 Main St, Louisville, CO]

Powder Keg Brewing Co (Niwot) - Over the weekend, Powder Keg did some special tappings. The first was their "Eventide Dark Farmhouse Ale". Also, they released "Dream Stealer Coffee Stout", a blend of Boxcar Coffee Roasters Bottlerocket Cold Brew Coffee and their Totes McOats Oatmeal Stout. And, on the guest tap they put up the collaboration brew from Call to Arms and Cannonball Creek called "Peace & Assist Vol. 1". Still some left - so come try them out! [101 2nd Ave, Niwot, CO]

Very Nice Brewing Co (Nederland) - You may know them for their beer, but you should also know them for their fun and entertainment as well. Every other Wednesday is Euchre Night (Aug 6th & 20th). Live music this Saturday from The NoGo Gillbillies from 6-9pm. Also, try out Yoga & Beer during their Pints & Poses on Saturday, August 9th from 12:30pm to 1:45pm. New Belgium Brewing (Ft. Collins) - [PRESS RELEASE] New Belgium Brewing has signed contracts with 10 Wholesalers in the state of Kentucky and is slated to open that market once its second brewery in Asheville, NC, comes online in late 2015. Earlier plans had New Belgium opening Kentucky and Hawaii in 2014 but robust sales and capacity constraints have pushed plans back until new capacity is complete. “We’ve been starting the distributor selection process earlier than in the past,” said New Belgium Brewing’s Sales Co-Pilot, Brian Krueger. “This allows us plenty of time for planning so that we can really hit the ground running when we open these new territories. Kentucky has been on the horizon for a while now so we’re excited to be moving on to the next stage.” Dates for distribution will become firm closer to completion of New Belgium’s Asheville facility some time in late 2015. Odell Brewing Co (Ft. Collins) - Coming up this Thursday, August 7 is #IPAday! Join in at the Odell taproom for their take on IPA Day 2014. They'll have a special IPA taster tray, live music by "Stax" from 4-6pm, and other fun stuff. Come celebrate hoppy beer with Odell! The taproom is currently featuring "Ales for ALS", a special pilot Double IPA - now on tap.
