Colorado Beer NewsToday is Video Games Day. Embrace your inner nerd today and break out your old video games and have some fun. Play them on your phone, your tablet, your PC or even on your big screen TV with a console. Dry Dock Brewing Co (Aurora) - In case you missed it last week, their new tasting room, Canoe Room at ‪#‎NorthDock‬, is now open to the public! Check out the new digs and their production facility on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from noon to 6 pm. They've even got their Imperial Pumpkin on tap there! Denver Beer Co (Denver) - Get ready for the Denver Beer Co Canworks Harvest Party! It's this Saturday, September 13th from 2pm to 6pm. They will be releasing their "Hey! Pumpkin Harvest Ale" in cans that day and will have a full Fall beer line-up available. There will be bluegrass bands, comfort food trucks, a pig roast, and will host tours of their new DBC Canworks! The cost is $30 for all you can drink beer and a chunk o'pig. There will be games like "Dunk the Brewer", "Pumpkin Slingshot Launch", Corn Hole and more. Bike riders can meet at Denver Beer Co's Platte Street location and ride over to the Canworks party with the Bike Gang, or just come on your own. 3 Freaks Brewery (Highlands Ranch) - Just tapped last night - Freaks Amber, a new brew filled with malty goodness. Start your weekend off with one of these. [7140 E County Line Rd, Highlands Ranch, CO]

Mu Brewery (Aurora) - Today they'll be releasing their Uber Umber on this small batch Friday. An amber ale spiced with cinnamon, cloves, fennel, star anise, and Szechuan peppercorns. It's the perfect fall time beer for this fall like weather. They'll be tapping this beauty at 5pm sharp. Also, Bill's Original Syracuse Sausage, LLC will be out front serving up delicious home made sausages. [9735 E Colfax Ave, Aurora, CO]

Rockyard Brewing (Castle Rock) - Today at 4pm, Jellyman will be releasing another one of his famous Deviation tappings. This time it's "FNSM", a Cognac-aged Alt with jalapeno. This one weighs in at 6% ABV and has just a little bit of heat at the end. [880 W Castleton Rd, Castle Rock, CO]

Big Choice Brewing (Broomfield) - Big Choice will be putting up a single keg only of their Red on nitro today starting at 2pm. This is a "drink til it's gone" kinda keg. #choosewisely [7270 W 118th Pl, Broomfield, CO]

Cannonball Creek Brewing Co (Golden) - The Colorado hop harvest for their fresh hop beer just happened. They picked 160 pounds of locally grown Cascade and Chinook hops and with 12 hours off the bine were putting them into their Colorado Fresh Hop Rye. Look for this brew later near the end of the month. Meanwhile, plenty of other beers on tap and a food truck tonight. [393 N Washington Ave, Golden, CO]

Epic Brewing Co (Denver) - Its been one year since they escaped to Colorado. All next week they are celebrating and asking you to join them! Epic Brewing is kicking off with a Utah Party on Sunday, September 14th from 2-8pm. Eat and Drink like they do in Salt Lake. They'll have the Utah Classic Series available (bottles only, of course!) and Big Kiwi will be here making paninis like our brewery in Utah. Enjoy a free jello buffet (did you know Utahans eat more jello than any other state?!). Utah attire encouraged! Boulder County

Boulder Beer Co (Boulder) - Announcing Boulder Beer Co's "2014 fRYEd Fresh-hopped Rye Pale Ale". This 2014 hop harvest special release is fresh-hopped with Chinooks from the Still Wind Hop Farm on Colorado's Western Slope imparting tropical fruit notes to its flavor and aroma. Generous amounts of toasted rye add complexity with a spicy, nutty flavor. Brewed with fresh off the bine wet hops! This provides a unique hop experience with a more complete hop flavor and aroma. Longs Peak Pub (Longmont) - Long's Peak Pub is nearly ready! They are currently hiring all positions and will be doing interviews Tuesday, Sept. 16th at 1pm. The Mountain Sun Pubs and Breweries are opening a Longmont location and will be conducting interviews for servers and line cooks Tuesday, Sept. 16th at 1pm at the Long's Peak Pub. Bootstrap Brewing Co (Niwot) - Their upcoming Oktoberfestbier is coming along and is almost ready to go. They made some changes to the recipe this year and they believe this is turning out to be one of their best beers they've brewed to date. Upslope Brewing Co (Boulder) - Recently, Upslope paid a visit to Rising Sun Farms in Paonia, CO for some local hops for the Up, Up, Up, Up collab Honey Pale Ale they'll be debuting during GABF week! They're working with Upstate Brewing Company using their local honey, Upland Brewing Company for hops from Indiana, Upright Brewing for hops from Oregon, and are going with 100% CO malt from Colorado Malting Company. Twisted Pine Brewing Co (Boulder) - Just a reminder that Twisted Pine will be closed all day Saturday, September 13th because their GM is getting married and the entire staff will be attending the wedding. Broken Plow Brewery (Greeley) - Have you tried their recently tapped West 10th Imperial IPA yet? It's a powerful 8.9% ABV hop-loaded brew that measures 213 IBUs! It's powerful and served only in a 10oz tulip glass. That's just one of 11 different beers on tap right now. Stop in for live acoustic music tonight from Travis Houle from 7-9pm. Elements Wood Fired Oven will be on hand tonight as well serving up wood fired pizza and calzones. Also, look for Broken Plow at the upcoming Greeley Oktobrewfest in Lincoln Park on September 27th. Odell Brewing Co (Ft. Collins) - Odell Brewing is celebrating their 25th (Silver) Anniversary this month and they are the subject of an episode on Beer Geeks TV. Black Bottle Brewery (Ft. Collins) - Dang those thieves! You've seen their infamous taxidermied squirrels at beer fests and in their taproom. A year or so ago, someone made off with Carlos their famous bird-flippin' squirrel. Everyone missed Carlos, so they created Juanita - another bird-flippin' squirrel. Well sad to say that someone has now stolen Juanita and now they are left with no flippin' squirrels. In memory of Juanita, they have brewed up a beautiful brown ale and they tapped it last night. If you happen to spot a bird flippin' squirrel let BBB know. They plan to activate the homing beacon inside it as well as the camera mounted inside and track down the culprit and bring them to squirrel justice. [1611 S College Ave, Unit 1609, Ft. Collins, CO]

Berthoud Brewing Co (Berthoud) - Today's Friday Firkin tapping is Country Sunrise Peach Agave. From early tastings, this one might just finish early. So get some while it lasts. Open today from 2pm to 10pm. [450 8th St, Ste B, Berthoud, CO]

1933 Brewing Co (Ft. Collins) - Yes, they realize it's 7 months late, but they're hosting their "7 Month Late Grand Opening + Oktoberfest Party" coming up on Saturday, September 27th from 12pm to 5pm. They will be tapping their Oktoberfest beer release, having a Beer Garden atmosphere, hosting some games + prizes, and offering some live music including The Stubby Shillelaghs, Robert Cline Jr and more. Choice City Butcher & Deli (Ft. Collins) - Put this on your pre-GABF event list for Monday, September 29th. Join Owner and Head Brewer Fred Karm and the crew from Hoppin Frog Brewery as Choice City welcomes them for a night of dinner and great beers! Grimm Brothers Brewhouse (Loveland) - Tomorrow brings the return of The Baron. Their traditional Berliner Weisse sour ale. Low in alcohol with a tart almost lemony finish. Pikes Peak Brewing Co (Monument) - [PRESS RELEASE] Pikes Peak Brewing Co. is very proud to have been chosen to brew the Local 5 beer again in 2014. This “Pale Ale with a purpose” is brewed with and for the members of the Colorado Springs Professional Firefighters Association IAFF Local 5. The proceeds from the sale of Local 5 Pale Ale assist the Colorado Springs Professional Firefighters with arranging travel for Local 5 members to attend the funerals of our heroes who have lost their lives in the line of duty across the nation. As host for the IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial in Colorado Springs, the Local 5 welcome firefighters from around the country each fall for a celebration of this ultimate sacrifice and service. The Local 5 Pale Ale will be released at Jack Quinns as a part of the IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial gathering in Colorado Springs on Monday, September 15. Horsefly Brewery (Montrose) - Missed this tidbit from last night but worth passing along. If you stop in on Thursdays at Horsefly Brewery and order any burger - you can receive your first beer for only a penny! Not bad eh? Plan to stop in next Thursday. [846 E Main St, Montrose, CO]

BREW Pub & Kitchen (Durango) - Just tapped - Ophelia, an American IPA brewed with lemongrass and locally grown yarrow. Pair it with some tasty food today! [117 W College Dr, Durango, CO]

Bonfire Brewing (Eagle) - Two beer tappings this weekend. THeir Wood-Splitter Pilsner gets tapped tonight and the Hop Eater IPA later this weekend. Try one or both on your next visit. [127 Second St, Eagle, CO]
