Today is Fermentedly Challenged's 7th Year Blogiversary. My how times flies. Back on this day in 2007, this blog started out as a personal journal to explore the world of craft beer. I posted my first blog page not knowing where it was headed. Seven years later, it's now morphed into a blog dedicated to spreading the news about Colorado craft beer, its breweries, the brewers, and the people who drink their beer. Thanks to all my readers for going along for the ride in the world of craft beer for all these years. Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Thursday, October 9th, 2014. If you aren't reading this article on FermentedlyChallenged.com, you don't know what you're missing.

Dry Dock Brewing Co - South (Aurora) - Dry Dock is celebrating two more GABF medals this year - one for Apricot and the other for S.S. Minnow Mild Ale. Here's what's coming up at this award winning brewery. On Saturday, Oct. 25th at 12pm - Aurora’s favorite spicy chicken wing eating contest is back! Wing Hut and Dry Dock Brewing Co. are teaming up again to bring you The Third Annual Dante’s Wingferno Challenge. Are you fit for the challenge? Register here and come ready for the heat. For more information about Dante's Wingferno, visit the Dry Dock Brewing Co. website. [15120 E Hampden Ave, Aurora, CO]
Dry Dock Brewing Co - North (Aurora) - Every Saturday Dry Dock Brewing Company’s brand new Canoe Room at North Dock tasting room taps a specialty firkin at noon. In October, Canoe Room will serve Chocolate Pumpkin Porter, Lapsang Souchong Smoked Tea Amber, and Double Dry-Hopped and Wet-Hopped Hop Abomination. Click here for Dry Dock's October Firkin Calendar. 2801 Tower Rd, Aurora, CO]
Living The Dream Brewing Co (Littleton) - Their latest creation has a Cosmo-pink color. I'ts called "Framboyz In The Hood", a Belgian-style wheat beer made with raspberries and a bad attitude. Stop in and try a pint today. [12305 Dumont Way, Unit A, Littleton, CO]
Mountain Toad Brewing (Golden) - Huell Melon Hop is their new pale ale - now on tap. This is the last of their 4-part series exploring the newest rare hops out of Germany. Honeydew melon, apricot and strawberry flavors are pronounced. Plus this beer is Gluten reduced. A glass is there waiting for you. [900 Washington Ave, Golden, CO]
Two22 Brew (Centennial) - Good football and good beer? They have both! Come join in tonight for Military Discount night ($1 off all pints for active/retired military) AND for Thursday Night Football. They will be open until the end of the game! No food truck so feel free to order/bring in! Just bring enough for hungry beertenders Justin and Blake! [4550 S Reservoir Rd, Centennial, CO]
Grand Lake Brewing Tavern (Arvada) - Grand Lake Brewing Tavern will be tapping not one, but two, new beer releases on Friday, October 10, 2014. A tasty peach wheat and a robust Raspberry Wooly Booger. Why not try both? [5610 Yukon St, Olde Town, Arvada, CO]
Three Freaks Brewery (Highlands Ranch) - They've got something special for you this Friday, October 10th. [7140 E County Line Rd, Highlands Ranch, CO]
Platt Park Brewing Co (Denver) - Today's pic of the day comes from Platt Park who's showing off their latest taplist board for today. Which beer will you choose? [1875 S Pearl St, Denver, CO]
Odd13 Brewing (Lafayette) - There's a new beer/cider hybrid beer coming soon from the joint efforts of Odd13 Brewing and Stem Ciders (Denver). It's a Sour Pumpkin Collaboration Ale. This beer is a kettle sour brown ale made with 20% cider, pumpkin and pumpkin spices and fermented with 100% Brett Lambicus. The aroma casts huge notes of apple and pumpkin pie. While the aroma from the spices are dominant, they carry over nicely into the flavor as they are much more subtle. The lacto and malic rule this beer, wholly puckery! The brett lambicus will add some great funky complexities making this beer over-the-top. They think it will be one of the most unique pumpkin beers available. Odd13 will announce the release of this very rare sour beer soon. [301 E Simpson St, Lafayette, CO]
Wild Cider (Firestone) - Also celebrating an anniversary today is Wild Cider. They filled their first keg of hard cider 1 year ago today. They wish to thank everyone for all of your support for them during this last year. Drink some Wild Cider today - available in cans & on draft. Available in regular Apple, Berry, Pineapple and their fall seasonal - Pumpkin. [Production: 11455 County Rd 17, Firestone, CO]

Boulder Beer Co (Boulder) - Boulder Beer's extremely limited winter barleywine ale is back for the season! Traditional winter seasonals are warm and comforting -- not this bird! Diving in at around 10 percent alcohol by volume, Killer Penguin Barleywine Ale uses over twice the malt as other winter beers. Aged to perfection, this beer doesn't ferment, it hibernates -- and wakes up with an attitude! Brewed in very small quantities once a year, they anxiously await Killer Penguin's return every November. Its dark garnet red color and candied-fruit like aroma get your mouth watering before taking a sip! [2880 Wilderness Pl, Boulder, CO]
Avery Brewing Co (Boulder) - It's a Lupulin Rapture Incarnate! This Friday, October 10th at 5pm Avery will release this year's edition of "duganA", an India Pale Ale. As fervent devotees of hops, they found themselves on a quest to create a transcendental IPA capable of quenching their voracious lupulin desires. Their mantra became "unity of bitterness, hop flavor and aroma." - Enlightened, duganA IPA was born: A brutally bitter, dank, piney and resinous ale designed for those seeking a divine hop experience. Stats: 8.5% ALC/VOL, 93 IBUs. Then, stay ready for their "Black Eye Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout" on Sunday, October 12th. It's number 21 in their barrel-aged series of bottle releases. Bottle sales begin at 1pm. Each bottle is $12 per 12oz bottle, limit 12 bottles per person. "Black Eye tastes like the best kind of toasted marshmallow...one that's been soaked in rum." -Adam Avery [5763 Arapahoe Ave, Boulder, CO]

So if you decide to enter their wing challenge don't expect this beer to help cool the burn. Woah! Plus, if you go to their web page at http://www.greatstormbrewing.com, and go to the Calendar page, you can download and print a punch card that will get you a free Fieldhouse growler if you visit each of the seven participating breweries. Springs, CO]
