December begins the long cold winter and with it, most beer activities are indoors. The holiday season is here and all and winter seasonal beers are abundant. December still has a few festivals, but the coming of winter means that beer drinkers will be looking to stay warm with bigger beers. These calendar listings are updated regularly or whenever new events are made public. The 2014 Parade of Darks

The highly anticipated fifth annual Parade of Darks presented by Wynkoop Brewing Company returns on Saturday, December 6 from 1:00-4:30 p.m. at the Bindery On Blake (2901 Blake Street). This event benefits Metro CareRing, Denver’s leading hunger-relief organization. Last year, Metro CareRing distributed more than 1.8 million pounds of food. Previous Parade of Darks events have raised more than $40,000 for the organization, and this year Wynkoop will again be donating 100 percent of the profits to Metro CareRing. Parade of Darks is a holiday tradition showcasing beers in the amber to opaque categories. Featuring more than 60 beers from 25+ breweries, attendees are sure to leave feeling warm and fuzzy. After hosting eight beer festivals over the past four years, KYLE HOLLINGSWORTH--keyboardist of The String Cheese Incident and beer aficionado--is pushing his annual December Colorado run to a new level, bringing his Hoppy Holidays to The Fillmore Auditorium in Denver on Saturday, December 6, marking the first ever beer festival concert at this legendary venue. KYLE will once again team up with the nonprofit organization Conscious Alliance to help provide food and funding to impoverished communities across the nation this holiday season. Previous Kyle’s Brew Fests have raised more than $50,000 to directly aid in this cause.
