Colorado Beer NewsWhat makes a Monday great? How about 70 degrees in January! It's patio weather today and you should head to your favorite brewery and enjoy a pint outdoors while it lasts! Colorado averages over 300 days of sunshine a year and a day like today will remind you of early summer. You can watch the last of the snow piles melt too. Some breweries even have summer beers available for days just like today. Here's what's happening around the Colorado craft beer scene today Monday, January 26th, 2015. Former Future Brewing Co - Join in this coming weekend, Jan. 30 - Feb. 1, 2015, for their One Year Birthday Extravaganza! On Friday, they're releasing the pilot batch of "Cat Sabbath" (named after their ritual of playing Black Sabbath and cat videos at closing time), a >20% ABV beer, which will be used to make "cocktails" all night. Or, have it straight up. Your choice. Mile High Soul Club will join in on Saturday from 4pm-8pm so bring your fancy pants and your groovin' shoes. Firkins will be tapped all day on the hour. Need to recover? Sunday, they will be tapping four coffee beers from Corvus Coffee, and will be selling breakfast empanadas in the taproom. 90's cartoons will be shown on the projector so feel free to come in your PJs. Copper Kettle Brewing Co - Mark your calendars for Sunday, February 22nd for a special 4 Year Vertical Snowed In Brunch at Copper Kettle Brewing. Featuring food from Hops & Pie. "Snowed In" is an Imperial Oatmeal Stout with locally brewed coffee and raw cacao nibs aged in bourbon barrels. The versions vary from year to year, giving you a chance to taste different flavors profiles due to continuing recipe development and the aging process. Bitter raw cacao nibs and rich coffee appear in different stages and intensity in each of the four beers. The cost is $55 per person + an 18% online gratuity and included a commemorative glass and a complete 3-course breakfast and a vertical tasting of 4-years of Snowed In. Nighthawk Brewery - After a last minute inspection delayed their Grand Opening by several hours, Nighthawk Brewery finally opened their doors for business on Friday, January 23rd at 5pm. Their initial beers included: Loiter Ciderweizen, Lamp Post Stout, Shakes' Wheat, Resurrection Imperial IPA and 16-Hour Dry Hopped Amber. Their regular business hours are: Mon-Wed 3-9pm, Thurs 3-10pm, Fri-Sat 11am-10pm, and Sun 11am-8pm. Come check them out and tell them Fermentedly Challenged sent you. Jagged Mountain Craft Brewery - Sky Pond Pale Ale will be released tomorrow, January 27th, under sunny skies and 72 degree weather - January in Denver doesn't get better than this! Up next to be brewed: A Cascadian Dark Ale. [1139 20th St, Denver, CO]

Freshcraft - Coming up on Monday, February 2nd at 7:00pm, Elevation Beer Company (Poncha Springs, CO) will be in the house for a "Take The Glass Night". There will be several tappings of Elevation beer and you get to take home the glass too! There will be other raffles for cool shwag. Sleeping Giant Brewing Company - A new dedicated contract brewery, one of the first of its kind in the Western United States, is opening in Denver this week. It plans to cater to the craft community. They offer approachable brew lengths, a variety of packaging options and a personal level of customer service unique to the industry. They already are lining up upstart breweries to brew in their facility. They have a large 70,000 square foot facility with a 50 barrel brewhouse and an initial capacity of 30,000 barrels and a future expandable capacity up to 175,000 barrels. BRU handbuilt ales & eats - Barley & Hops for Beer Lovers Dinner - Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to just be for couples, why not celebrate your love for other things in your life (like craft beer)? It’s no secret that Beer Chef Ian Clark has a passionately serious love for food and beer and to showcase this love he has crafted a special Valentine’s Day dinner for the beer lover. Each course incorporates both barley and hops in the eats and then pairs it with one of Ian’s handbuilt ales. Mazer Cup International - It's Colorado's biggest mead event of the year and this year they will be having a public Mead Mixer Tasting on Friday, March 20th from 7pm to 10pm at the Omni Interlocken Hotel in Boulder, CO. Come join in for an evening of mead, food and fun with proceeds benefiting the COmmunity Food Share organization, helping to fight hunger in the local community. Grimm Brothers Brewhouse - It's that time of year again when the brewer's minds turn to love in Loveland, CO. That's why Grimm Brothers is releasing their annual Loveland Valentine's Day beer - Bleeding Heart. This year's recipe is a coconut German porter that will knock your socks off. The launch party will happen this Saturday, January 31st. Bottles of Bleeding Heart will be sold all during the month of February in the taproom and in Loveland liquor stores and will also be available on draft in the taproom and at various local bars in Loveland. Brix Taphouse & Brewery - Greeley is about to get it's newest brewery this weekend. Brix Taphouse & Brewery will open this Saturday, January 31 at 2pm. They have 60 taps and will feature Colorado craft brews from dozens of breweries plus 3 of their own taps. In that list of taps there are also 6 nitro taps! They've been doing soft openings the last couple of weeks and are now ready to open it's doors. Plans include expanding into an open patio in the Spring and having a small kitchen that offers tapas and small food items. City Star Brewing - Today is Free Beer Monday! Bring in your empty growler, get it filled at the regular price and get a token good for 1 free beer. You can use it then or on your next visit.
