Colorado Beer NewsThe NFL season may be over, but the release of new Colorado craft beers continue. Welcome to February - a time for Valentines, Mardi Gras and Stouts! It's Stout Month at many locations across the state. Time to embrace the dark side of beer. Which one will you try next? Two Creeks Brewing - This brewery isn't open yet, but that's not stopping them from doing a beer release this Friday, February 6th at 6pm over at Grandma's House (brewery) in Denver, CO. Come try their "Wunsch", a German-style Amber Ale. It's an exercise in wish fulfillment. And according to Preston, they're giving away a free beer for signing up for their mailing list. Should be lots of fun and aprelude to a Spring and Summer full of beer releases and insane amounts of free stuff. [Grandma's House: 1710 S. Broadway, Denver, CO]

Lone Tree Brewing Co - Please join LTBC in celebration of Valentines Day on February 14th from 7:00 - 9:00pm for a Sweet Pairing. Their Sweet Pairing will be a Chocolate Raspberry Stout and Cupcakes from Smallcakes in Lone Tree. Live music this Friday night from Jim Speiser. Food trucks on site Wednesdays through Sundays. Declaration Brewing - The finishing touches are now being made in preparation for their Grand Opening on Valentine's Day, February 14th. They plan to have around 8 beers on tap plus a regular rotation of food trucks. They will be doing a series of soft openings so check out their social media sites for word on when they'll open up. Wonderland Brewing Co - Great news! Their brew dog Merlin has returned! If you don't happen to follow them on social media, you may have missed the news about their lost brew dog. Last Sunday, their head brewer's dog, Merlin, went missing from their very own backyard! For a week, they searched and searched for him, hoping they'd spot him in a park or that he'd show up at their front door. Their fans spread the news like wildfire; posting statuses, calling shelters, looking around their neighborhoods - they were in awe! With the entire community and even news channels searching for Merlin, they had hope that he would return, and on Saturday morning, he did. They are so thankful he returned to them safely and for all of YOUR help last week. In other news, they are hosting another Crafty Yogis, brewhouse yoga session with Nikki Sutton this Saturday, February 7th from 3:30-4:30pm. Copper Kettle Brewing - February is Decadent Chocolate Cask Wednesday Month where each Wednesday they will tap a cask of something special made with chocolate (and beer). Tomorrow, February 4th they'll tap a Chocolate Vanilla Imperial Cream Ale. On February 11th - a Cherry Chocolate Imperial Milk Stout. On February 18th - a chocolate Toasted Coconut Imperial Porter, and on February 25th - a Chocolate Hazelnut Peanut Butter Imperial Brown. Also, one of their upcoming tappings is this Friday, February 6th - a Rum Barrel Imperial Pumpkin Porter on Nitro. Why settle for just October to enjoy a Pumpkin beer? Comrade Brewing Co - This Friday, February 6th, Comrade Brewing will release their first Imperial IPA (IIPA) starting at 12 noon. This brew weighs in at 9.5% ABV and over 100+ IBUs and was hopped with Citra, Simcoe, Mosaic, Millennium and Galaxy. They've also got two collaboration beers coming up in late February for the Collaboration Fest. One is with Hogshead and the other with Crooked Stave. More details on these beers to come. River North Brewery - [PRESS RELEASE] River North Brewery has been named Brewery of the Year for 2015 in the Best of Craft Beer Awards, earning medals in five categories. River North was awarded the following accolades en route to its overall title: Gold for J. Marie in Bière de Garde, Gold for Quandary in Belgian Dark Strong Ale, Gold for River North Tripel in Belgian Golden Strong Ale, Silver for River North IPA in Specialty/Hybrid Beer, and Bronze for River North White in Witbier. “I am very humbled that we received this reward,” Founder and Head Brewer Matt Hess said. “We just brew what we like to drink, so I’m glad to see that the judges like it too.” Award-winners River North White, J. Marie, Quandary and River North IPA can be found on shelves and taps throughout Colorado and Kansas. In Missouri, the brewery distributes to the Kansas City area. River North Tripel, brewed only once in 2014, will return in 2015 as a spring and summer seasonal. The Best of Craft Beer Awards is an annual BJCP-certified competition in Bend, Oregon. Lowdown Brewery + Kitchen - Lowdown Brewery has been open for almost an entire year! They'll be celebrating their one-year anniversary February 11th, and they'd love for you to join them! High Hops Brewery - Mark your calendars for Saturday, February 14th. It's time for the 2015 High Hops 3rd Annual Firkin Fest running all day long. They brewed this special beer to celebrate Valentine's Day here in the Sweetheart City and are honored to join the Loveland Chamber of Commerce & Visitor's Center in naming The Bleeding Heart the Official Beer of Loveland's Valentine Celebration.
