Funkwerks - Recently released: Raspberry Provincial, a Belgian-style sour ale. This delicious creation was a product of creativity, ingenuity and luck. In the summer of 2013 they took a test batch of their session sour summer ale, Provincial, that didn't quite hit gravity, and decided to have some fun with it! They added a heavy dose of raspberries. The end result was so delicious, they decided to recreate it! This delightfully tart fruit beer is described as "stimulating and refreshing, with a citrusy raspberry aroma which transitions to a subtlety sweet and tart finish". Plus, notes of lemon zest and tart raspberries. Come try this Gold Medal winning beer. Also now available: Barrel-Aged Brett Trois, a bbl-aged Belgian Brett Ale. This barrel-aged experiment was originally one of Funkwerks’ first and only primary Brettanomyces-only fermentation. A large amount of Galaxy, Rakau, and Crystal hops were added toward the end of the boil and for the dry hop addition, contributing to the tropical fruit flavors and aromas. They wanted to experiment with the wild yeast and Brett yeast by putting it in red wine barrels. Tasting notes: bright tropical fruit aroma, white grape like character, slight tart pineapple and a hint of vanilla. [1900 E Lincoln Ave, Ft. Collins, CO]
