[Northern Colorado Beer News] -What gets you over the hump better than a cool craft beer on a hot day? Perhaps knowing where you can find specials on those beers! And Fermentedly Challenged knows where the beer deals are flowing today and every weekday in the Northern Colorado Beer News. From growler fill specials, to fun events, to upcoming weekend parties. With nearly 100 breweries in Northern Colorado there's always something going on. Here's what's happening around the Northern Colorado craft beer scene today, Wednesday, June 15th, 2016. Boulder County

300 Suns Brewing wants you to laugh it up this week. Tomorrow night from 7pm to 8:30pm is Barley-Har-Har Comedy Night hosted by BuB Comedy. Comedy and craft beer is featured every 1st Friday and 3rd Thursday of the month in the taproom. The featured headliner that night will be Bobby Bird. The show is Free. It's also Open Mic for any aspiring comedian too. Located at: 335 1st Ave, Unit C, Longmont, CO.

Bootstrap Brewing Company was busy today brewing up a new collaboration beer along with the folks at BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse (Boulder) and also Shine Restaurant & Gathering Place (Boulder). This beer will take a few weeks to get ready and when it does you'll want to get a taste of it. Details coming soon. Meanwhile, stop in for a beer or two. Located at: 6778 N 79th Street, Niwot, CO.

Boulder Beer Company is planning to tap an awesome barrel-aged beer today at 4:00pm. This time it'll be a rye whiskey barrel-aged Mojo Risin' Double IPA. This will be an extreme version of Mojo IPA as it was brewed with more than a half ton of extra malt and twice the Amarillo hops for a big, citrus flavor. Watch out - it weighs in at 10% ABV. Located at: 2880 Wilderness Place, Boulder, CO.

Crystal Springs Brewing Company reminds you that next Wednesday, June 22nd is Bike to Work Day and they will be hosting two stations in Louisville this year. They'll host a bike party at the taproom and also a water station off the Coal Creek Trail. If you ride your bike to the brewery that day you'll get a free beer! Also, there will be a bike washing station, demo bikes from Spot Bikes, bike games and cool prizes from Velofix. Party runs from 1pm to 9pm. Located at: 657 S Taylor Ave, Unit E, Louisville, CO.

Finkel & Garf Brewing Company hosts One Off Wednesdays every Wednesday starting at 5:00pm. They'll tap a new beer every Wednesday. When it's gone - it's gone! That plus 8 other F&G beers on tap, plus they even make their own Root Beer too! Open today from 3pm to 9pm. Located at: 5455 Spine Road, Unit A, Boulder, CO.

Front Range Brewing Company will host "Cheers & Beers to 3 Years", a 3rd Anniversary party this Saturday, June 18th from 12pm to 10pm. Featured beers include a Black Gose (goes-uh) made with black sea salt and Fresno peppers, a Blueberry Sour, a Kiwi Sour, a Strawberry Melon Goose Berry IPA, a Coconut Vanilla Baltic Porter, a Mai Tai Helles, and a bourbon barrel aged Chasm Lake Russian Imperial Stout. Love music from The Constant Tourists & Barrel of Blues. Located at: 400 W South Boulder Road, #1650, Lafayette, CO.

The Industrial Revolution Brewing Company is having Trivia Night TONIGHT instead of Thursdays due to the Erie Farmer's Market schedules for Thursdays this summer. Stay tuned for Saturday, June 25th then IRBC unveils their new brewery equipment as well as a new addition to their patio. They'll also have a comedy show that night on the patio as well as some limited bomber of off-tap beers for purchase. Located at: 285 Cheeseman Street, Erie, CO.

Left Hand beer cansLeft Hand Brewing released a press release today outlining their plans to bring 3 of their beers to cans this year! Left Hand Brewing partnered with KHS, a leading canning line manufacturer for this venture. Look for these beers to be in cans at local stores by winter: Fade to Black Foreign Export Stout, Extrovert American IPA and Milk Stout. Additional beers will also be headed to cans in 2017. This new canning line has automated volumetric filling to help cut down on oxygen levels and maintain consistent fill heights. The brewery broke ground on their new canning space and will be ready to go in the 4th quarter of 2016. Located at: 1265 Boston Avenue, Longmont, CO.

Oskar Blues Grill & Brew is hosting a can release party for their Priscilla White Wit Wheat this Friday up in Lyons starting at 7:00pm. It's been on draft as a specialty beer for over a decade but is now ready to be shared with the world in 12oz cans. Stay for a beer and a meal. Located at: 303 Main Street, Lyons, CO.

Powder Keg Brewing Company - In the "File it away for another day" category, the brewery spent some time today brewing up a batch of their Moonlit Shadows Russian Imperial Stout and will also brew it up again on Friday then stash it all away in some bourbon barrels to age over time. Many months down the road it will debut in the taproom. If you can't wait that long, fill up your glass with one of their many other brews on tap. Located at: 101 2nd Avenue, Niwot, CO.

Wibby Brewing is hosting Wibby Wednesday. Stop in to try their new Double India Pale Lager (IPL) called The Ted IPL. Food tonight courtesy of Rat's WoodShack BBQ from 4:30pm to close. Located at: 209 Emery Street, Longmont, CO.

Wild Woods Brewery will stamp your growler rewards card twice on Wednesdays for every growler fill. Collect 10 stamps and get a free growler fill! On Thursday, they will be tapping a new Summer Mild ale, both on cask and on CO2. Try it! Located at: 5460 Conestoga Court, Boulder, CO.


Larimer County

Big Thompson Brewery is offering a Wednesday Special today - Get 5 tasters for just $5! Plus starting at 1:00pm they will tap a new release. Try their new Red India Pale Lager. Located at: 114 E 15th Street, Loveland, CO.

Black Bottle Brewery is having a House That Beer Built 2 beer release this Thursday, June 16th at 5:00pm. This time around it's a new American IPA called "Revolt Downfall and the Design. Hops in this one include: Centennial, Equinox, and Huell Melon hops. They will also be donating $1 from every Revolt Downfall and the Design sold to Fort Collins Habitat for Humanity. Come drink for a good cause. Located at: 1611 S College Ave, Ste 1609, Fort Collins, CO.

City Star Brewing is still looking for a few more volunteers to help out at the upcoming Hops and Harley 2016 event happening June 25th in Fickel Park in Berthoud. Sign up online at SignUpGenius. Also, tonight is Trivia starting at 7:30pm. Bring a team and compete for brewery bucks. Plus the Stick It To Ya food truck will be on site from 5-9pm as well. Equinox Brewing Company has two beers on the Beer Engine currently: their 6th Anniversary IPA and a Nelson Schmelsson Pale Ale. Plus, there are 16 regular beers and 4 specialty beers on tap. Coming soon: Switchman Session IPA, Midsummer Pale Ale, Darth Vernal Dunkelweizen, C.B & Nox Sparkling Ale (June 17th), and Event Horizon Imperial IPA (June 17th). Something for every taste. Rock Cut Brewing Company is excited to announce that they now will have a food truck parked outside their patio. Come for some awesome food from Two Chicks Wings and Henhouse starting at 1:00pm til 9pm. Also at the brewery tonight is Estes Arts District's Night of the Fun Junkies form 5-7pm. Snowbank Brewing Company will be the subject of a tap takeover over at Wild Boar Coffee in Fort Collins tomorrow, June 16th at 5pm. Stop in at Wild Boar Coffee for live music, free swag and five Snowbank Brewing tappings including 1 beer that you'll only find there (it's special). Meanwhile back at the brewery, the staff is busily preparing for this weekends Brewers Olympics and the start of Fort Collins Beer Week. That kicks off this Saturday. Verboten Brewing has some older barrels for sale (around 9) that may be of interest to you homebrewers out there. They are asking $100 each for the barrels and $175 for the home-brew stand. Let them know via PM on Facebook if you are interested in them. (See pictures there). Also, get ready for Sour Festivus - Verboten's own mini Sour Fest this weekend at the taproom June 17 - June 19th. There will be four sour beers to try including: Dizzying Intellect Vol 3 Farmhouse Wit, Badrinath Tropical Berliner Weisse, Night Has Fallen Barrel Aged American Sour, and Roll in Ze' Pineapple Gose. You can get a taster flight of this starting Friday. Plus, a limited number of 22oz bombers of Dizzying Intellect will be for sale starting at 4pm this Friday. Weld County

Broken Plow Brewery is featuring Week 3 of their Summer Trivia Tournament tonight starting at 7:00pm. And next week for trivia you'll want to get your Rasta outfits on and bring your favorite potluck items for a special Raggae Night on the 22nd. Ask your server for details. Enjoy a beer out on their shaded patio today. Located at: 4731 W 10th Street, Unit G, Greeley, CO.

Crabtree Brewing Company has several Summer beers on tap this week including a favorite returning beer: Patersbier, a light, refreshing brew with malty pineapple and banana notes. Great for these hot days! Don't forget to get your growler cards double punched today too! Open from 3pm to 10pm today. And don't forget Firkin Fridays tapping at 6pm too. Something different each week. Located at: 2961 W 29th Street, Greeley, CO.

High Hops Brewery - The brewers are going to need a break soon. They just brewed up 5 batches of beer in a row in less than 24 hours and are now fermenting over 1550 gallons of beer (12,400 pints). Then on July 7th they plan to brew 6 batches in a day to attempt to fill up their new 60 barrel tank. Brew day finished at 3:20am this morning. Bet they don't run out of beer for a while. WeldWerks Brewing Company is getting ready for their big Father's Day beer release featuring two variants on their popular Medianoche Imperial Stout. The two varieties: Coconut Medianoche Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout and the Vanilla Medianoche Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout have been aging in bourbon barrels for over 12 months and were bottled this week in 375ml bottles and will be sold (limit 2 per customer per variation) this Sunday. The bottles will be $13 each. There will also be a limited amount of these beers available on tap (5.5oz pours) plus a couple extra surprises! The release begins at 10am due to the expected heat that day. They will begin checking ID's at 8am and distributing wristbands to people physically in line. Crowlers of Juicy Bits (New England style hazy IPA) will also be available (limit 1 per person) as well as their collaboration brew Robot Librarian (New England Double IPA). Look for WeldWerks Brewing Co to be pouring at the Wyoming Brewer's Festival and at the Boulder SourFest this weekend and also at the Colorado Brewers' Festival June 25th & 26th.
