Fate Brewing Company recently released their new "Tiger Wheat" at the Brew at the Zoo event at the Denver Zoo. The beer was made in honor of the new big cat habitat at the zoo called "The Edge". Großen Bart Brewery is planning for a big hairy event in July called the "Longmont Mane Event" - set for Saturday, July 23rd from 2-8pm at their taproom. Großen Bart, which means "Big Beard" is planning a day to celebrate big beards, and facial hair with a Beard and Mustache Competition. This competition is open to the public. Guys get your beards and staches groomed to perfection by the 4pm contest start. Tickets to the event are $5/advance or $8/door. Price of entry into the Public Beard Competition is $10. Very Nice Brewing Company - Filed under the "Betcha Didn't Know" category - Very Nice Brewing does something a little different with their spent grains. Instead of throwing the grains out, they give them to an Ostrich Farm "Head N The Sand" up in Black Hawk, Colorado and the big birds just gobble them up. And some of them grow to be nearly 7 feet tall! Must be something good in those grains. Meanwhile back at the taproom, Wednesday nights are Vinyl Night. Vision Quest Brewery will be releasing 7 new beers this Saturday starting at 3:00pm in their taproom.
