September marks the end for Colorado's seasonal outdoor beer festivals. The harvests have begun, Oktoberfest celebrations are in full swing and the fall seasonal beers are abundant. September still has a big variety of festivals, both indoor and outdoor, but the changing of the leaves means that soon beer drinkers will be heading inside. Here are many of the Colorado beer-related festivals and events that you can attend this month. These calendar listings are updated regularly or whenever new events are made public. Special Kids Special Families will once again host their 2nd annual BBQ, Blues and Brews Festival to raise funds for Zach’s Place at the Laurie Hillyard Family Center, the organization’s premier respite program for children with disabilities. The program is the only childcare facility in the Pikes Peak region with the focus and training to provide care to children with physical, emotional and intellectual disabilities. The event will include several BBQ, food, drink and beer vendors as well as bands donating their performances for the festival.

Breckenridge doesn’t take the responsibility of hosting the largest Oktoberfest street party in the Rocky Mountains lightly. The September street party is where Munich meets the mountains, featuring more than three-dozen genuine German cuisine and brew vendors, excessive Bavarian lederhosen dancing and a weekend packed full of sunshine and fun for all ages. Prepare yourself for the famed historic Main Street to be flowing with German bier, Oompah dancers, schnitzel and sausage while traditional polka music fills the air fresh mountain air. The weekend is full of beer, but they didn’t forget about those under the drinking age. Breckenridge Oktoberfest is full of entertainment for everyone; make sure to visit face-painting stations, get some pre-festival exercise at the 5K run and test your skills at a wide variety of German themed games, including the poplar Hammerschlagen.

The Rotary Club of Boulder Valley is excited to announce the third annual Boulder Valley Beer Fest to be held on Saturday, September 10 from 2:00 until 6:30 p.m. The festival will take place in conjunction with the Town of Superior’s annual Chili Fest and will be held at the Superior Community Park. The Beer Fest will feature over 20 local breweries offering a wide variety of outstanding beers. General Admission includes an attractive souvenir mug and unlimited beer sampling. A limited number of VIP tickets will be available which will include early entry, wine, food, specialty beers not available outside of the VIP area in addition to the souvenir mug and unlimited beer sampling. The blues funk and soul band, Jason Larson Band, and the award-winning, local a cappella group Face will provide Entertainment for everyone’s enjoyment.
