[Northern Colorado Beer News] - There's a change in the air. Local college campuses in Greeley, Fort Collins and Boulder starting to fill back up with students again. Breweries are starting to put out their Fall seasonal beers - and it's still hot outside! Need to cool off with a cold one? Read on! The Crafty Fox - Denver based beer bar The Crafty Fox will host a special brewery IPA Olympics this coming Saturday, August 20th from 11am to 11pm. They will be featuring IPAs from nine different Colorado breweries including Odd13 Brewing and WeldWerks Brewing Company. Local breweries will be competing in fun games for the right to have a dedicated tap handle at The Crafty Fox for a full year. Happy Hour pricing all that day with $1.50 off drafts and 50 cent wings. 300 Suns Brewing - Celebrate back-to-school season with a beer and a few laughs tomorrow night August 18th from 7pm to 8:30pm during their Barley-Har-Har Comedy Night. Front Range Brewing Company - For small batch Wednesday today, FRBC is tapping a Barrel Aged Russian Imperial Stout called Chasm Lake. It's rich and chocolaty with hints of fig and has notes of bourbon, oak and vanilla. It's on draft and also in 22oz bomber bottles for $15.99 each. Also, get ready for the release of their Palisade Peach Berliner Weisse on Saturday, August 20th. Located at: 400 W S Boulder Rd, Ste 1650, Lafayette, CO.

Gravity Brewing - Time to plan ahead to September for Gravity Brewing's 4 Year Anniversary Party set for Saturday, September 17th from 1pm to close. There will be new barrel-aged and small batch beer tappings, some amazing food offerings from Gastronauts, live music from two different groups and a lot more. Mark your calendars now. J Wells Brewery - This Friday, August 19th marks the release of a new small batch beer release at J Wells Brewery. It's Aleyna's Peach Saison. This is a beer created by their intern Aleyna. Be sure to try it soon. Located at: 2516 49th St, Ste 5, Boulder, CO.

Left Hand Brewing Company - It's that time of year once again! Join Left Hand Brewing next Friday in their Tasting Room for the seasonal release of their Oktoberfest Märzen Lager. Get out the dirndls & lederhosen and get ready to celebrate! Located at: 1265 Boston Ave, Longmont, CO.

Liquid Mechanics Brewing Co - This Saturday, August 20th marks the 2nd Anniversary Bash & Music Festival at the brewery. Over 18 different beers will be on tap, 4 different bands playing, 2 food trucks, plus some exclusive beer releases that aren't announced yet. Bring your lawn chairs for the music on the outdoor stage. All beers are $5. Event runs from 12pm to 12am. Free admission. 21+ only after 9pm. Located at: 297 US Hwy 287 #100, Lafayette, CO.

Mountain Sun Pub & Brewery - Big news for music lovers. Yonder Mountain String Band will be warming up for Saturday's Red Rocks show at Under the Sun Eatery and Pizzeria this Friday, August 19th at 9pm for a FREE and intimate evening. If you haven't purchased your Red Rocks tickets yet, don't stress! You will be able to do so on Friday night, and Mountain Sun will even throw in a FREE pint with every ticket purchased. The Old Mine - Starting on Labor Day, The Old Mine will be closed on Mondays through the rest of the year. However, they will reserve Mondays for people to reserve the place for private events, parties and charity events. Located at: 500 Briggs St, Erie, CO.

Rowdy Mermaid Kombucha - The launch of their new kombucha beers has begun! Over the weekend, Rowdy Mermaid tapped two sour kombucha beers made in cooperation with New Image Brewing. One is a Wild Sour Cherry beer (7.5% ABV) and the other is a Wild Sour Apple kombucha beer (5.5% ABV). Kombucha is a fermented tea and normally only contains a trace of alcohol. But these drinks had added grains and were blended together to make one of Colorado's first ever kombucha beers for sale. These kombucha beers will be bottled in the coming months but are now on draft in their taproom. Located at: 2516 49th St, Boulder, CO.

Sanitas Brewing - Coming soon - look for Sanitas to release their Deluge 2016 barrel-age sour saison, a brew made with Brettanomyces. It will be available on draft and in 750ml cork and cage bottles. Details coming soon. Located at: 3550 Frontier Ave, Unit A, Boulder, CO.

The Post Brewing Co - Tonight come listen and chat with Brewmaster Bryan Selders in the Elkhorn Taproom starting at 6:30pm. He'll be talking about the steps their brewers take to ensure quality beer. Upslope Brewing Co - On Tuesday, August 23rd at 5pm, Upslope Brewing will release tall cans of their collaboration beer "Reel Rock" Experimental Hop IPA at their Flatiron Park location. This is a beer they brewed with Reel Rock and will be available in 19.2oz tall cans. The first 25 people to show up there after 5pm will get a Free Reel Rock Experimental Hop IPA. Vindication Brewing Co - Stop into the taproom anytime from now through Friday August 19th and tell beertender Twigg the code word "Raven Knights". When you do, you'll get a special treat. You're gonna love it. Located at: 6880 Winchester Cir, Boulder, CO.

West Flanders Brewing Co - Now on tap - their Snowy Wit. It's a traditional Belgian Wheat beer made with orange peel and coriander. This one is there for a short time only. Located at: 1125 Pearl St, Boulder, CO.

Wibby Brewing - Brewing capacity in the brewhouse just got a lot bigger as they took possession of two new 30 barrel fermenters from BUILT Construction. These are the 5th and 6th of such fermenters they are now using in the brewery. Lots more beer coming even quicker now! Located at: 209 Emery St, Longmont, CO.

Wild Woods Brewery - On Thursday, Wild Woods will tap a small batch seasonal beer called "Nectarine & Thyme Saison". It's a refreshing summer seasonal that they plan to bring back again. Located at: 5460 Conestoga Ct, Boulder, CO.

1933 Brewing Co - This week, 1933 Brewing released two new beers. The first is a Mexican Lager weighing in at a sessionable 4.7% ABV. They'll even put either a salt rim or a spicy chipotle rim along with a lime to go with your beer. The second release is "A Fistful of IPA", a 5-hop 5-malt 6.9% ABV IPA. Taproom open until 8pm tonight. Located at: 4025 S Mason St, Fort Collins, CO.

Big Thompson Brewery - Here's your Hump Day special today. Purchase any pint today at Big Thompson Brewery and you'll qualify to take a growler fill home for 1/2 price. Also, today marks the release of their Experimental Batch #3 - a Honey Orange Pale Ale. #LetTheBeerFlow - Located at: 114 E 15th St, Loveland, CO.

C.B. & Potts Brewery & Taphouse - Recently in the brewhouse, CB&Potts got together with members of the CSU Brewing Science team and brewed up an American Stout. This beer will be debuted in September at a tapping party. Stay tuned. Located at: 1427 W Elizabeth St, Fort Collins, CO.

City Star Brewing - Wanting to go to the Boulder Craft Beer Festival this weekend (8/20 @ 1-5pm) but don't have tickets? You can win a pair of tickets to this fest tonight during Trivia starting at 7:30pm. City Star will be pouring their beers at this festival along with 25 other breweries pouring unlimited samples. Fort Collins Brewery - There's a new collaboration beer coming from FCB & Verboten Brewery next week on August 25th at 5pm. That's when they'll tap the "Stout, Collaborate & Listen" Steam Coffee Stout. It has hints of coffee, vanilla, and cacao in with the steam lager yeast. It's a coming together of FCB's Shot Down Chocolate Stout and Verboten's Pure Imagination Oatmeal Stout. Brewed without darker malts, it's a beer that's noticeably lighter in color than regular stouts. Try it at the upcoming 90's themed release party on the 25th at 5pm. Grimm Brothers Brewhouse - What better place to practice speaking German than at a brewery that specializes in German-style brews! This Thursday, August 18 is Grimm Bros' Deutsche Nacht Stammtisch from 6pm to 8pm. There will be a group who will help everyone to speak German. Everyone from novices to native speakers are welcome to join in. Participants will get $1 off pints. Also, join up with the "Grimm Brothers Brewhouse Friends" Facebook group and you'll get Happy Hour pricing on beer all day every Thursday plus get access to special offers only members get. Free to join. Also, don't forget the annual release of their Farmer's Daughter Oktoberfest Lager is this Saturday, August 20th. Pateros Creek Brewing Company - Just tapped today - Peanut Brittle Red Ale. This is a very small batch of it and it won't last long. This brew smells just like peanut brittle! You're going to want a pint. Located at: 242 N College Ave, Fort Collins, CO.

Rally King Brewing - In case you missed it last weekend, for a limited time, Rally King has their Chipotle Stout back on tap. There's just a limited quantity of this brew so it won't last long. It's darkness with a bit of heat (sounds like a summer night eh?). Located at: 1624 S Lemay Ave, Unit 4, Fort Collins, CO.

Rock Cut Brewing Co - Ever wanted to drink a porter next to a river? Your wish is granted. Rock Cut's English Porter is now back on tap. Located at: 390 W Riverside Dr, Estes Park, CO.

Snowbank Brewing CO - Get ready to toast to two years! Snowbank Brewing is turning 2 years old this month. Plan to attend their 2nd Anniversary Toast this coming Monday, August 22nd from 6pm to 8pm at the brewery. They will be giving out a complimentary beer shot of their original flagship beer - Colorado Red during the toast. Then later that week on August 26-28 they'll have a complete 3-day weekend of partying as they shutdown the parking lot and host a big long Anniversary Party. Look for 5+ special beer releases, food trucks, cornhole, water balloon fights, Beersbe/Frisbeer, slow bike races, trivia, raffles & giveaways too. Three Four Beer Co - They've been pouring guest craft beers since late 2015, but starting August 26th (next week) they will also start pouring their own beers! Their small 3 barrel brewhouse was fired up late last month and now those first initial beers are about ready. Their first beer release party has been set for Friday, August 26th starting at 11:00am. They will be giving away three free kegs of their original beer across three days - August 26-28. On the 26th they'll tap their original Pale Ale. On Saturday, August 27th they'll tap their Porter, and on Sunday, August 28th they'll tap their IPA. If you stop in any of those dates you'll get a FREE pint of the beer that they are tapping that day (limit 1 per customer). They've got up to 49 beers on tap in total - 3 of them now will be their own brews with more to come. Please welcome in Fort Collins' newest craft brewery! Verboten Brewing - Their annual Laze About Peach Habanero release, set for Saturday August 27th at12pm, is extra special this year with the first ever 22 oz. bomber release of the fantastic summer seasonal! This beer is sweet from Colorado peaches and has a slight spiciness and great chili flavor from roasted habeneros and jalapenos. To celebrate, Verboten is opening up the brewhouse and will have Matador Mexican Grill there serving food to the hungry and Rebel Popcorn giving away samples of their spicy Peach Habanero popcorn. Zwei Brewing - This Fort Collins brewery is having its second birthday this month and to celebrate, Zwei Brewing is throwing a Birthday Block Party this Sunday, August 21st from 11am to 8pm. There will be some special beer releases, fun & games to enjoy, plenty of food available from two food trucks, and live music from two bands at 3pm and at 5:30pm. Broken Plow Brewery - Your brain is in need of exercise! That mean's you should come to Trivia Night tonight starting at 7pm. Crabtree Brewing Company - Yesterday, pumpkins were being picked out on the farm for this year's upcoming Chunkin' Pumpkin beer. The pumpkins will be brewed into this years batch and set to debut sometime in late September. Also, have you tried Crabtree's newest beer - Imperial Double IPA? This small batch & rare beer launched over the weekend and is available on draft and also in bottles for a limited time. Get yours while it lasts. Located at: 2961 29th St, Greeley, CO.

Echo Brewing Company - Saturday, August 20th is the date for the 1st Annual Echo Poker Run. The ride is in memory of Brendan Dunigan who passed away last month. All proceeds will go to the Romito and Gjydelkon families. Sign up before Saturday to ride your bike for $20 and $10 per riders. The fee includes a pig roast @ 6pm. You will be riding to several locations including Echo Brewery in Frederick (starting point), WeldWerks Brewing Co in Greeley, City Star Brewing in Berthoud, Bootstrap Brewing in Niwot and Gravity Brewing in Louisville. High Hops Brewery - Today's Wednesday Firkin release will be "Assault'n Peppa Saison" and will tap at 5:00pm tonight. They put 6 different peppers into this saison to give it some heat. This will help balance out the tart & tangy-ness of the Belgian style beer. Better prepare your taste buds! Tonight's food truck is Chaulkboard Gourmet Express from 4pm to dusk. For those of you up in Wellington, CO take note - tonight over at Cantina Liquors, High Hops will be hosting a beer tasting from 4pm to 7pm. WeldWerks Brewing Company - A new kettle-soured German wheat beer will be tapped tomorrow, August 18th at 2pm - "Berlinerita". This beer was made with lime juice and lime zest and is a highly sessionable 4.5% ABV beer that is reminiscent of their Goserita, only this time there's no salt and no coriander. Available only on draft (no growlers or crowlers this time) and is a smaller batch so it won't last long. Located at: 508 8th Ave, Greeley, CO.

Wiley Roots Brewing Co - Starting about Friday this week, Wiley Roots will debut the availability of several beers in their new crowler cans! Stay tuned for details on which beers will be available to take home. Located at: 625 3rd St, Unit D, Greeley, CO.
