[Northern Colorado Beer News] - The day after Labor Day seems like a Monday, but the good news is that there's only 3 more days until your next weekend! There's some new tappings, upcoming events and beer specials you'll want to know about. Tuesdays have some of the best specials! Here's what's happening around the Northern Colorado craft beer scene today, Tuesday, September 6th, 2016. Featured Brewery News of the Day

Funkwerks - Funkwerks has published their September list of upcoming beer releases coming later this month. Sometime mid-month, Funkwerks will tap "Bramble", a barrel-aged brett saison ale brewed with blackberries. It's funky from the Brettanomyces and has a bit of sweetness from dark candi sugar and berries. Stats: 7.6% ABV. Will be available on draft and in 750ml bottles. Then coming in late September, for Funkwerks' "Blanc (The Saison Conspiracy)", a collaboration beer they did with River North Brewery that's a barrel-aged saison ale brewed with grapes. They blended both houses' yeast strains together to produce a light traditional Saison with a hint of chardonnay grapes and Chardonnay barrels. Stats: 7.5% ABV. Boulder County Breweries

300 Suns Brewing - There's still a few team spots open for the upcoming "Hoplympics Summer Games" at 300 Suns set for Wednesday night, September 14th starting at 6:30pm. Sign up your team quick and your team could win a Beer Tour on the Brewhop Trolley and free beer for the day of your tour at local breweries. Plus medals too! Participants will receive free beer (or a non-alcohol drink if under 21) and an awesome metal water bottle. FATE Brewing Company - Fate Brewing is expanding into a 2nd location! Fate Brewing recently announced plans to open up a new restaurant and taproom (no brewhouse) in the Lafayette Marketplace (aka The District) in Lafayette, Colorado. Fate expects to open their newest location by February 2017. The Lafayette Marketplace is also home to Lafayette Homebrew Supply and Front Range Brewing Company. Fate Brewing does not plan to brew at its 2nd location but to operate it primarily as a restaurant will their own beers on tap. Current location: 1600 38th St, Boulder, CO.

Front Range Brewing Company - For those of you who are barrel-aged stout lovers, Front Range Brewing is having a sale on their Chasm Lake Buckwheat Stout. This brew was aged for 6 months in Breckenridge Bourbon barrels and is now on sale for $6 a bomber bottle. Located at: 400 W South Boulder Rd, Lafayette, CO.

Left Hand Brewing Co - Plan to attend Left Hand Brewing's 23rd Anniversary celebration coming on Wednesday, September 21st from 11am to 9pm at their taproom in Longmont, CO. Come wearing your Left Hand Brewing t-shirt and you'll receive half off your first pint during this event. More details coming soon. Located at: 1265 Boston Ave, Longmont, CO.

Odd13 Brewing - On Sunday, September 11th, Odd13 Brewing will release "Codename: SuperDuperFan Double IPA" in their taproom. You won't find this beer outside the taproom so stop by soon to try it. Located at: 301 E Simpson St, Lafayette, CO.

Sanitas Brewing - This Saturday, Sanitas Brewing is celebrating their 3rd Anniversary with a big Party all day long. There will be a lot of special fun beers available, a cornhole tourney with prizes, a taco eating contest, live music and their very first bottle release. Event runs from 11:30am to 11pm this Saturday. Located at: 3550 Frintier Ave, Unit A, Boulder, CO.

Big Thompson Brewery - Today is Taster Tray and Trivia Tuesday. Get discounts on taster trays: 5 for $5 or 8 for $8. Trivia with Dani tonight starts at 6:30pm. Located at: 114 E 15th St, Loveland, CO.

Black Bottle Brewery - Fresh on tap this week is Black Bottle's "Karma Payment Plan", a sour grapefruit IPA (5.5% ABV). Get an 8oz pouring for $5.00. Located at: 1605 S College Ave, Ste 1609, Fort Collins, CO.

Buckhorn Brewers - Over the weekend, Buckhorn Brewers tapped some new beers. When they open again on Thursday, September 8th look for these to be on tap: Winterwhite IPA (7.5% ABV), Never Summers' Wit (4.5% ABV), and Krueger Porter. Coming soon from the fermenters: "Steamtoberfest", a beer that will appear at the Loveland Oktoberfest on September 16-17. Also coming soon is their "Wildlane Farmhouse Ale". Maxline Brewing - Good news for NFL football fans. During the football season, Maxline Brewing will extend their Sunday hours to 11am to the end of the Sunday Night game. There will be plenty of craft beer, local food and of course plenty of free high fives when your team scores. Located at: 2701 S College Ave, Fort Collins, CO.

McClellan's Brewing Company - Tuesdays are always special at McClellans where you can get $6 growler refills all day long! Bet you're in need of a refill after a long weekend. Located at: 1035 S Taft Hill Rd, Fort Collins, CO.

Intersect Brewing - For those of you who may have missed it, Intersect Brewing recently tapped two more beers - their Kolsch and a Pale Ale as of late last week. Located at: 2160 W Drake Rd, Ste A-1, Fort Collins, CO.

Pateros Creek Brewing Co - Mark your calendars now for their annual Pateros Creek Brewing event "Stevetoberfest" on Saturday, September 24th, 2016 from 2pm to 7pm at the brewery. You've heard of Beer:30, well this event will get you used to Steve:40 as in the owner Steve is turning 40 this year during the celebration. Come help him say goodbye to his youth and enjoy Stevetoberfest. Located at: 242 N College Ave, Fort Collins, CO.

Weld County Breweries

Broken Plow Brewery - Staring tonight is an event called "The Weekly Pick" where a group of Bluegrass, Folk, & Acoustic enthusiasts do a jam session from 7pm to 9pm. Anyone with an interest in playing can join in - or simply come and listen in. This event will run every Tuesday night. Enjoy a beer the a jam! Located at: 4731 W 10th St, Unit G, Greeley, CO.

High Hops Brewery - This week's Firkin tapping is their "Mangifera Farmhouse", a Belgian-style farmhouse ale made with mangoes. Funky, fresh and fruity. Then, returning to the taps on Thursday, September 8th at noon is "The Pink One", a gluten-free version of their kettle-soured Gose. This one has loads of raspberries and lemon verbena added to give this one some tartness. It's very sessionable weighing in at 4.0% ABV. Also tapping that day is their "Imperial Blueberry Wheat" beer. This is a stronger version than their normal Blueberry Wheat - so enjoy responsibly! Located at: 6461 Hwy 392, Windsor, CO.
